Statement
Lady Pluuto is an internationally celebrated artist based in Spartanburg, SC. She uses her creative process to explore her subconscious mind while expressing herself through spiritual symbolism and dream-like themes.
The name Pluuto represents her spirit:
Because of her upbringing, she is deeply rooted in isolation. Always feeling an unfathomable distance between herself and the world, like Pluto.
The extra 'u' in Pluuto represents her Sun sign being Gemini. There's always 2 versions of herself guiding each other through life. When in unity they act as a messenger of the Gods.
Pluuto represents duality in every aspect of life. Where there is darkness, there is illumination. Where there is destruction, there is rebirth.
"The depths of our shadows are the source of our light."
Within the past 7 years she has been featured in 15 publications, her works have been displayed in 27 exhibitions, she completed 7 public art projects, and she has attended 2 artist residencies in Japan.
Through her art, she inspires others to reflect on the creation of their authentic selves.
Bio
Alana Hall was born to her late parents Debra Denise Dennis and Thomas Eugene Hall on the 10th of June 1991 in Austell, GA.
Growing up always on the move exposed Alana to a lot of different people, but also caused her to feel very isolated in life. Creating art was always the one constant she could rely on through it all. No matter how little she had to work with, she would create her own world. In her eyes, anything could be art supplies. The freedom of imagination helped her creativity remain limitless through her frequently unstable reality.
Much of Alana's experience in art comes from being self-taught. Although she studied the visual arts at Full Sail University, she prefers the freedom of exploring different mediums on a whim compared to the structure of a degree program. Thanks to her love of creation and learning she is an accomplished artist with acrylic, oil, watercolor, digital paintings, graphic design, mural painting, ceramics and Japanese papermaking.
Alana currently resides in South Carolina and her studio and artworks are available to view at the Artists Collective | Spartanburg.
